A Year in Review

By Bob McNeil · March 30, 2011 · Filed in American Citizen Party, Presidential Candidate

Bob “Bob, where have you been?  We haven’t heard from you since last October!!”

The short answer is, I’ve been walking, talking, working and living among you, continuing to spread the message about my 21st century economic plan to restore freedom to ALL American citizens.

The longer answer follows, as I offer this review of 2010:

February 2010

  • Mailed copies of the Economic Freedom Act to President Obama and more than 500 members of the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate.
  • Mailed press releases to more than 450 news outlets in the United States.
  • No responses received.

March 2010

  • Worked in Houston, Texas, conducting audits on behalf of my clients.
  • Attended a meeting sponsored by the Houston Area Liberty Campaign.

April 2010

  • Attended Tax Day Tea Party rally on April 15th at Discovery Green in Houston, Texas.
  • Worked in Houston, Texas, conducting audits on behalf of my clients.

May 2010

  • Flew from Houston, Texas to Washington, D.C. to attend a 2-day seminar sponsored by the Federal Election Commission (FEC) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).  There, I learned about federal election laws and IRS filing requirements for the American Citizen Party.  I also handed out “Bob McNeil For President” business cards to everyone I met and explained my 21st century economic plan to anyone who would listen.
  • Stayed an extra day and drove south to the U.S. Marine Corps Base at Quantico, Virginia.  I was stationed there in 1971-1972 as an active duty Marine Corporal, then a Sergeant.  But, there was another reason for my trip to Quantico.  There was a museum on the base dedicated to the Marine Raiders, an elite fighting force deployed in the South Pacific in WWII.  My father was a Marine Raider and it brought tears to my eyes to see his name engraved on a plate in a wooden cabinet bearing the names of all of those brave men who served in the Raiders.
  • Worked in Houston, Texas, conducting audits on behalf of my clients.

June 2010

  • Celebrated the birth of my third grandchild.
  • Wrapped up one Houston audit and prepared for the next one, requiring travel to Tulsa, Oklahoma.

July 2010

  • Flew from Houston, Texas to Oklahoma to conduct a 3-week audit on behalf of a small client.
  • Attended a small-town “Meet the Candidate” event, where I introduced myself to a number of local, state and national political candidates.  Gave a copy of my  “Economic Freedom Act” to all national candidates.
  • Signed a contract with Cardinals FEC Compliance Services to have them file the proper American Citizen Party reports with the FEC.
  • Experienced the end of a 10-year personal relationship and endured the emotional ups and downs that accompanied that loss.

August 2010

  • Flew from Houston, Texas to Anchorage, Alaska to lead a 4-person team on a 3-week audit of an international oil and gas related company.
  • Attended a “Meet the Candidate” event in Anchorage, featuring Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska).
  • Announced to a room full of 150 people my intention to run for President of the United States, and endured the laughter that followed.
  • Confronted Senator Murkowski about her plan to restore freedom to ALL American citizens and gave her a copy of mine.
  • Filed American Citizen Party “Form 1 - Statement of Organization” with the FEC.

September 2010

  • Attended a candidate “Meet and Greet” at the George R. Brown Convention Center, in Houston, Texas, sponsored by the League of Women Voters, and took the opportunity to discuss my economic plan with a number of state and national candidates.
  • Traveled to Snyder, Texas to assist in finalizing an audit.
  • Discussed my 21st century economic plan for America and left American Citizen Party literature with everyone I met.

October 2010

  • Worked in Houston, Texas, conducting audits on behalf of my clients.
  • Drove from Houston to Austin, Texas to stay with my 83 year-old Mother in the hospital after surgery.  Stayed with Mom at my sister’s farm for 1 week after her release from the hospital.
  • Was asked by my sister if I would consider moving to Austin to live with her and Mother.  I said “Yes.”
  • Changed American Citizen Party’s FEC designation to a “Political Action Committee”.

November 2010

  • Worked in Houston, Texas, conducting audits on behalf of my clients.
  • Began packing for my move to Austin.

December 2010

  • Wrapped up all audits for the year.
  • Held a 2-hour telephone interview with a 30+ year-old military veteran who wants to run for office in Arizona as an American Citizen Party candidate.  I think he’d be a fine replacement for Senator Jon Kyle (R-Arizona), who announced that he would not seek reelection in 2012.
  • After living alone for 20 years, I moved from Houston to Austin, Texas into a condominium with my sister, Mother and a small dog.

January 2011

  • Attended the “9th Annual Policy Orientation for the Texas Legislature”, sponsored by the Texas Public Policy Foundation.
  • Announced to a ballroom of 500 people my intention to run for President of the United States, and endured the laughter that followed.
  • Confronted Senator John Cornyn (R-Texas) about his plan to restore freedom to all American citizens and gave him a copy of mine.
  • Gave literature to Stephen Moore, Senior Economics Writer for the Wall Street Journal.

February 2011

  • Flew from Houston, Texas to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to assist in a 3 1/2 week audit of a multinational vendor providing global services to my client, whose headquarters were in Madrid, Spain.
  • During off-hours, walked the streets, ate at local restaurants, walked the beach, watched the girls, drank some beer and enjoyed the Brazilian sunsets.
  • Took the opportunity to explain to a citizen of Brazil the U.S. Constitution, the three branches of our government, the legislative process, the powers of the presidency, and how these things form the foundation of my 21st century economic plan.  The response:  “I think you should run for President of Brazil!”
  • Met a beautiful Brazilian angel who was sent by God to awaken my heart, which I had put to sleep in July 2010.

March 2011

  • Drove from Austin to Houston, Texas to conduct a two-week audit on behalf of one of my clients.
  • Continued explaining my 21st century economic plan to anyone who will listen.

As you can see, there are many aspects to my life and, as the only one responsible for it, I am required to manage them all.

So far, I believe I’ve done a pretty good job.

I also hope you can see that I am committed to doing more than just talk about freedom, and have been since 2007.

I am willing to dedicate my time, effort and money to restore freedom to EVERY American citizen, present and future.  In addition, I am willing to challenge established politicians to put forth their plans and to endure the laughter from those who don’t believe in what is possible.

If you are one of those, you should know that I believe restoring freedom is my life purpose and I simply will not be deterred by critics.  So, I am long past the point of being offended by ridicule or laughter.

Between now and the November 2012 election, I will be giving speeches, blogging and producing videos to advance the cause of freedom in America.

What are you willing to do?

Here are a few suggestions:

  • Send money to help offset the cost of campaign literature, signs, billboards, radio and television advertising, office rent, payroll, utilities, FEC and IRS compliance, and all other expenses associated with advancing the cause of freedom;
  • Run for public office as an American Citizen Party candidate on a platform of restoring freedom to ALL American citizens;
  • Organize petition drives to put American Citizen Party candidates on the 2012 ballot;
  • VOTE for American Citizen Party candidates in 2012.

Now is the time for a 21st century American revolution to reverse 100 years of assault on our freedoms by the professional politicians.

It is time to clean house and return our country to the People.

Stay tuned for further instructions.

In freedom,

Bob McNeil
2012 Presidential Candidate

Szandor Blestman……July 21 2008…………………It seems to me that many Americans have given up on the concept of freedom perhaps the majority of them. This is why our founding fathers emphasized the individual when they first set up a government to lead this nation and it is individualist thought we need to return to in order to restore the freedom that so many of us realize we have lost….But freedom is scary to many.
