In my thirty-two years as a divorced man, I have heard the words “You’re not the one” many times, as relationships came to an end.

And, although those words sting less today than they did in the past, sometimes they still knock me to my knees, causing me to question all that I had come to believe was true.

Actually, they just caused me to question if love was true.

Given my history, then, you can imagine how I reacted when God recently said to me “Bob, you’re not the one.

Please allow me to explain.

Lately, I’ve been praying a lot and talking to God about my Presidential campaign, and the most recent conversation went something like this:

Me: Father, why aren’t the American people responding to the plan you gave me? It is the most powerful economic plan in modern history and guarantees each of them a life of liberty and prosperity at a level not seen in more than 100 years. Surely a candidate with such a plan could easily win the Presidential election and save America….and, the world!

God: You are quite right, my son. The plan I gave you is flawless. But, the reason they are not responding to you is simply because you’re not the one.

Me: What do you mean, Lord?

God: It was never my purpose for you to run for the office of President of the United States.

Me: But, Father, since 2008, I have told my family, friends, co-workers, talk show hosts, millions of people, and perfect strangers that I was a Presidential candidate. You showed me the Constitutional key to unlock the shackles of economic slavery currently around the ankles of every American. You had me give speeches at luncheons hosted by various nonprofit organizations. Why did you do that if you didn’t want me to run for President?

God: When you were in the 11th grade, do you remember why you resigned from the National Honor Society, the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students?

Me: Yes, Lord. I was asked to give a speech at the annual banquet about one of these virtues: scholarship, leadership, service, or character. I was afraid to speak in front of a room full of people. So, rather than face my fear…..I resigned.

God: Are you afraid to speak in public today?

Me: No, Father. But, in 2010, why did you send me to Anchorage, Alaska, place me in a room full of 150 people at a political event where Senator Lisa Murkowski was speaking, and have me ask a question she stumbled to answer?

God: What was the outcome of her election?

Me: She lost the Republican Primary to Joe Miller.

God: I sent you there to demonstrate the power of one man speaking the truth.

Me: I am beginning to understand, Lord. But, why did you then send me to Austin, Texas to sit in a room of 600 people where Senator John Cornyn was speaking, have me rise and announce I was a Presidential candidate with a powerful plan to give him, then have the entire audience erupt with laughter?

God: Because, my son, I was teaching you that nothing, and no one, can hurt you when you are living my purpose for you.

Me: I know that, now, Father. But, if I am not to be President of the United States, how will you have me serve you, Lord?

God: You are the Messenger whose sole purpose is to continue educating the American people about my economic plan, the bright future it will bring to them, and the revolutionary way it will be implemented. But, as far as your Presidential campaign is concerned, it is finished.

Me: Yes, Father.

So, there you have it.

God gave me His plan to present to you, but He never intended for me to be “the One” to implement it.

The dialogue continued for awhile longer as I expressed my concern for America’s future if “the One” doesn’t appear soon.

God told me “good will always win over evil, but, America has farther to fall”. He also said He will send “the One” to catch her when she does.

To those who believed I was somehow your “savior”, I am not. I am just an ordinary man, living an extraordinary life, who misunderstood God’s purpose for me. That misunderstanding has now been corrected.

For that, and any false hope I might have given you, I sincerely apologize.

Politically, the American Citizen Party will continue its mission to recruit true, Constitutional conservative candidates to replace the corrupt representatives in Washington, D.C. I invite you to support that effort with your time, effort, and money.

The future of America, and the world, will unfold as God intends. Implementing His economic plan will ensure it will be great!

In liberty,

So…you really believe, literally, that you had this conversation with the Almighty?

Well, I can say without hesitation that I believe God exists and is all present, all powerful, and all knowing.

Had you been in the room with me, you would not have heard anything, nor would you have been aware of what was happening.

You see, I pray to Him in silence. In my mind, heart, and soul, however, the conversation is just a real and loud as if you and I were speaking to each other.

You may remember that I prefaced my conversation with God with this sentence:

“Lately, I’ve been praying a lot and talking to God about my Presidential campaign, and the most recent conversation went something like this:”

“Something like this” means it wasn’t intended to be taken literally.

In writing “the conversation”, I used a variety of linguistic tools to make it more interesting to read, but, the core message to me, and what I attempted to convey to you, was “Bob, you’re not the one.”
